My bio in short
I am originally from Alberta, Canada.
My primary research interest is in virus-host cell interactions, particularly viral immune evasion and virus-cell co-evolution. I obtained a PhD from Trinity College Dublin, studying the innate immune response to Vaccinia virus. In addition, I have pursued post-doctoral studies examining the interferon response to pathogenic hantaviruses at the University of St. Andrews. Currently, I am investigating the role of endogenous retroviral elements in human diseases.
