Short Bio

I was born and raised in Samos, Greece

I have been primarily qualified as a Physicist at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, receiving post-graduate education in molecular biology at the University of Crete. I hold a PhD in molecular epidemiology of viruses (National Retrovirus Reference Center, Department of Hygiene Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, School of Medicine, University of Athens) and I spent two years as a research associate (post-doctoral scientist) at the Laboratory for Clinical and Evolutionary Virology, Rega Institute, Leuven Belgium receiving a Marie-Curie EC grant. I am currently based in the National Retrovirus Reference Center, Department of Hygiene Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, School of Medicine, University of Athens. (Publication list)
